Halloween in Loule - 03-Nov-2009 |
 |
The annual Halloween celebrations in Loule were a great success, attracting over 7.000 people to the city, on a night where witches, zombies and many strange creatures roamed the streets. Attractions included face painting (for the kids and the grown ups), a scary bouncy castle, street entertainers and a Halloween disco for those prepared to stay out until the witching hour.
This was another good effort by Loule council to promote the city, by the use of a year round programme of cultural events. Other events this year have included Festival Med (a fusion of music, culture and food), Noite Branca (an excuse for a party dressed in white), Summer Carnival and of course, Carnival. During each of these events the city of Loule comes to life, with shops, restaurants and bars open, creating a wonderful atmosphere.
Joss Stone also performed a one off concert in Loule during the summer.
We look forward to seeing what other delights are in store for us next year, as we await the traditional Christmas decorations and lights that signal the start of the festive season.
More Algarve news will be added weekly.
